Miller Big Picture
Caliber’s primary work for this project consisted of voluntary seismic upgrades, re-piping the entire plumbing system, and HVAC replacements. Housed in what is familiarly known as the Miller West building, Hillsboro Big Picture School was in need of safety and HVAC upgrades, including direct digital controls for the HVAC. The old boiler was removed. According to Laurie Lux, the school office manager, the boiler was repurposed from a WWII ship when the school was built in 1948. In its place a new, smaller, and more efficient boiler unit was installed. The old galvanized domestic water pipe was also replaced and updated with new water piping.
This project began in May 2019 and was completed at the end of August 2019. See the project updates throughout construction phases here.
